Covid 19 Testing Services

With the recent virus outbreaks, our clinic has been providing the following tests and services to its clients and employees.

Covid-19 PCR Test – The PCR test is used to directly detect the presence of an antigen, rather than the presence of the body’s immune response, or antibodies. By detecting viral RNA, which will be present in the body before antibodies form or symptoms of the disease are present, this test can tell whether or not someone has the virus very early on

Rapid Antibodies Test – Antibody testing determines whether an individual has had COVID-19 in the past and now has antibodies (IgM and IgG) against the virus. Antibody testing, also known as serology testing, is done after full recovery from COVID-19. A blood sample is taken (finger prick) and then tested to determine if a person has developed antibodies against the virus. The immune system produces these antibodies — proteins that are critical for fighting and clearing out the virus.

If test results show that antibodies have developed, it indicates that a person was likely infected with the COVID-19 virus at some time in the past. It may also mean that person has some immunity. The level of immunity and how long immunity lasts, however, are not yet known.

It is also important to know that the timing of the antibody test affects accuracy. If testing is performed too early in the course of infection, when the immune response is still building up in the body, the test may not detect antibodies. As a result, it is important to wait several days to get tested.

Point of Entry Temperature Testing– One of the common symptoms that individuals who are infected with the Coronavirus have is fever or high body temperature. As a preventative measure, many companies are establishing a formal point of entry proactive testing procedure. This is performed with a non-contact digital thermometer. Our clinic performs this service by placing its trained technicians at points of entry for many different facilities.

Temperature screening ensures that personnel with a higher than normal body temperature are restricted from entry into site operations and buildings. Temperature screening is an effective pre-requisite for entry into all site-controlled areas and activities.
